Meet Dr. Joel Sardzinski
As a dentist, I have the opportunity to meet awesome people and create friendships while providing quality dental care. They are the reason I enjoy the profession of dentistry. Whether it is diagnosing and treating someone with dental discomfort, or providing a beautfiul smile, it entails creating lasting relationships which I find the upmost satisfaction.
Education and Continuing Education
- Bachelor of Arts in religion/psychology – MidAmerica Nazarene College
- Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Missouri-Kansas City
Continuing education is always a top priority for all of us at Blair Ridge Dental. I recently completed a two-year mentorship at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry with Dr. Gordon Christensen, as well as a ten-month implant MaxiCourse at Loma Linda University sponsored by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Since 1999, I have been an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in the Department of Family Dentistry. I enjoy spending time in the classroom furthering my dental education as well as keeping pace with the technological challenges of the dental profession. It is all intended to fulfill my obligation to keep my patients abreast of what today’s dentistry can provide for them and their families.
Family and Community
I grew up in Boca Raton, Florida and made my way to Kansas City where I met my wife Shelley. We have two children, Logan and Brittany, and have enjoyed participating in all their events and activities. We still do in their college years. I enjoy volunteering at the community dental clinic as well as the Iowa Mission of Mercy.
Being a member of Kiwanis International is an avenue to help children right here in Eastern Iowa. Additionally, I can be found cheering for the Cedar Rapids Kernels baseball team and Roughriders hockey team as the team dentist.
