Meet Dr. Jinny Hanson
As a dental health professional, I have the opportunity to help patients with their oral health and be involved in their lives by developing lifelong relationships. Providing quality dental care in a comfortable and gentle atmosphere is important to me. I enjoy all aspects of general dentistry and enjoy treating patients of all ages, especially caring for children. While I enjoy helping patients feel better about themselves by improving their oral health, what I love most about dentistry is the relationships I’ve made with my patients and their families.
Education and Continuing Education
- Undergraduate degree – University of Iowa

During dental school, I was involved in dental research that was published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2009. My passion for learning hasn’t ceased since graduating from dental school. I attend numerous continuing education classes every year to learn the latest techniques and materials to provide the most current and excellent dental care possible for my patients. I am a certified provider in Invisalign® treatment to provide beautiful smiles. I have attended numerous courses at the Spear Education Institute and also completed training in Botox through American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

Outside the Office
I was born in South Korea but immigrated to Iowa in 1987 with my parents and brother. Growing up in Iowa City almost all my life has made me a Hawkeye fan. Currently I reside in Cedar Rapids with my husband and my two young children, Alex and Avery. I love spending time with my family but also enjoy running, hiking, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.
To help my community I am a volunteer dentist at the Community Health Free Clinic and the Iowa Mission of Mercy where we provide free dental care in the community for patients who cannot afford dental treatment.
